Who? Any Erskine student or interested adult learner who wishes to take graduate level seminary courses without going to campus or attending on-campus class. Courses can be taken at the M.A., M.Div. or D.Min. level. Anyone may take an EDEN course for personal enrichment or spiritual fulfillment without receiving academic credit. Those needing to fulfill continuing education requirements through their church or judicatory may wish to consider the EDEN option as one way to satisfy those expectations

What? It is an alternative form of educational delivery not intended to entirely replace traditional courses but to supplement them. It is also Erskine’s effort to bundle the delivery of seminary courses (master’s and doctoral) so that students do not need to (1) come to this campus (2) go to an off-campus satellite location or (3) attend class in person. Our present professional accreditor limits the number of credits a student may take through distance education to two-thirds of the Master of Divinity and one-half of all master of art’s degrees.

When? Every EDEN course is available every semester. Unlike traditional courses that follow a rotating schedule, EDEN courses are offered continuously and are therefore extremely convenient and flexible.

Why? Most of our students are busy pastors, youth pastors, counselors and teachers, who serve in their ministry capacity full time. According to our Distance Education survey, over 50% of our students travel well over 100 miles to attend classes on campus or at our satellite locations. Since EDEN courses allow you to be frugal in the amount of time spent in taking a course, you give yourself more time to spend on ministry or with your family. Additionally, you have the option of ordering your course textbooks before you actually enroll in the course, you are able to give yourself additional time to complete all of the course requirements within the time constraints of the semester in which you enroll for the course.

Where? EDEN courses are available anywhere in the world with an Internet connection! Time and distance are no longer barriers to completing your degree.
