Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada.) At the end of that semester, the student’s work is evaluated and the student is either removed from academic probation or withdrawn from the Seminary. Students who apply for one of the Certificate programs will be placed on academic probation for one semester. Undergraduate students who anticipate enrolling in seminary are encouraged to pursue a well-rounded course of study in order to provide a broad cultural orientation. Suggested areas of concentration include English, history, philosophy, Bible and religion, and the social sciences. However, students who have concentrated in other disciplines will not be handicapped in pursuing a theological education. Undergraduate college courses cannot be applied toward a seminary degree, although in some cases, they can be used to place out of required courses and enable the student to take advanced courses in the same field.
