Erskine Wellness and HealthSTAT co-sponsor Energizing Erskine as a weight loss challenge among Erskine faculty, staff, and students. The goals are to see who can lose the most weight along with physical activity and lose the most inches during the six weeks the program runs. We award prizes to the winners in each category.

We held our first Energizing Erskine challenge at the start of spring semester 2009 with ten participants of whom six completed the entire program. The winner of the first category was Jimmy Barnes, Controller in the Business Office who lost 23.6 pounds. The winner of the second category was Dr. Jennifer Fairbairn, Adjunct Faculty at the seminary who lost 11.5 inches. Congratulations to both winners and all who participated. In reality, every who participates wins because by participating all of our folks enhanced their well-being and overall health.

As promised, we will have Education Sessions to help us with our continued wellness effort. The location will be in the Living Hope Room on the 2nd Floor of Watkins Student Center and the dates are as follows:

 May 19          11:30 am

 June 16         11:30 am

July 14            11:30 am

August 11       11:30 am
